Case Studies / CommunityLend Inc.

CommunityLend is the first social lending service in Canada. The online community platform allows person-to-person lending procedures that eliminate much of the cost and inefficiencies that arise through a middle party. CommunityLend is built around the strategy of pairing Lenders and Borrowers without the use of banking institutions. Borrowers signing up create a profile and complete a loan request. Once opened, the Lenders begin the bidding process, competing with each other to provide the best possible lending rate. Placing strong emphasis on communities, the company is positioning itself as the leader of the Candian social-banking revolution.

  • IDENTITY
  • The CommunityLend identity was formed around the concept of community. The cross-pollination of social networks in which individuals interact with one another is visualized within the smbol. The resulting relationship is captured within a single entity. The colours have been carefully chosen in order to signify a friendly atmosphere of the online social lending platform. Emphasis has been placed on the green representing the monetary focus of social lending.

  • STATIONERY
  • While the online environment mediates the interaction between parties involved in consolidating capital for investment, the stationery sets the standard of importance attributed to forming meaningful relationships between people. The stationery assures investors that the organization is legitimate and focused, while the brand treatment reinforces a collegial and approachable feel, allowing interested parties to feel confident in joining the network as a viable solution for business initiatives.

  • COMMUNITYLEND APPLICATION
  • Within the design of the initial application we placed much importance on the usability of the system. Reinforcing simplicity in a new and complex product allows for a more successful user adherence through enjoyable experiences. By creating a simple to understand lending process we hoped to alleviate much of the stress and intimidation which may confront first-time users – and especially first-time visitors – to the site. The design process has been guided by iterative development stages of the system, and through thoughtful observation and analysis, a useful tool has been created which helps people by bringing them together.

  • COMMUNITYLEND BLOG
  • The blog has been designed to create a fast-loading source of CommnunityLend and social-lending news. Importance has been placed on readability of information, while further strengthening the simplicity inherent in the brand personality.
