Spreed News

Spreed News is a product of Spreed Inc., a research company specializing in ‘reading enhancement technologies’. Their claim of “Faster is Smarter” targets a media-saturated audience weighed down with information overload. As the amount of written information increases within the user’s environment, so does the time required to stay up to date. Spreed Inc. presents a unique solution by delivering information through a proprietary reader module, resulting in a decrease of time required for the user to consume the information.

Spreed Inc.’s flag ship product called Spreed:News enhances the way people read their news online. Spreed:News offers the user simple and customizable access to their news through their iPhone as well as on their desktop computer.

  • IDENTITY
  • The Spreed:News identity design is an extension of the original Spreed:Inc identity system. Additional exploration was required to create a sub message within the product name. • STATIONERY
  • The design of the Spreed stationery continues the narrative of no-nonsense efficiency through a minimal aesthetic, incorporating the brand colours
and information in a clear and

  • SPREED:NEWS MOBILE
  • Within the design of the interface for the iPhone, ease of use and user experience were of prime importance for reinforcing the Spreed brand. Just 3 days after the launch of Spreed:News Mobile, the application was featured on Apple’s most popular Web Applications list. As an added bonus, it was also selected as a “Staff Pick” on Apple’s Web Applications website.

  • SPREED:MOBILE INTRODUCTION
  • A simple marketing-driven website was designed to introduce the iPhone application launch to Spreed’s devoted users. A customized sign up page introduced the user to a logical way of bringing the benefits of Spreed:News to their portable device.

  • Designing around a set of technical specifications that were already established before our input presented a unique challenge for brand continuity. Working with developers as systems were finalized further enhanced our work methods, and ultimately led to solid conclusions as the system gradually became remolded to reflect the Spreed identity.
